I am the champion!!!
Why do we, people in general, have a need to be the winner? The need to be top dog, stand on top, be first in line or be the highest bidder? I'll tell you why. The end result is super cute shoes!!!! No wonder people sell stuff on eBay! I bid on a really cute pair of wedges last night on eBay and FINALLY won them. It was a pretty heated battle and I ended up reigning victorious (and paying a little more than I intended to, which really isn't that bad because it totaled $11 including shipping). There is something about outbidding someone that puts an extra little swagger in your step. You stand a little taller, smile a little bigger and laugh a little harder at jokes that really aren't all that funny. You won. Well... I won! Take that p****5! She crumbled under my 25 cent raise and was knocked out of contention for these little beauties. I feel like a prize fighter who just took down... another great fighter! (Give me a break. I don't watch boxing.) No shoes for you p****5. I feel so tough. It's the small things in life, really. However this is why I refuse to bid on expensive items on eBay. I sometimes have a hard time controlling the need to be the highest bidder. But I guess that's what makes eBay so brilliant. All in all, I didn't break the bank and this kid feels like she can show her face on the playground once again. (I hate that ugly red "x" when you've been outbid. It almost stings.) It's amazing what a cute pair of shoes can do for your self confidence, even before you get to wear them :o)
