This is during the opening ceremony for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for a Cure on November 5th. It was so cold that everyone instinctively huddled together while we waited for the day to get underway.
There were a few blisters and sore joints along the way, but with the help of the stellar med crew and the prayers of loved ones I made it through. This is at the end of day 2 right before I headed into the showers.
I met an amazing woman during the walk who helped me make the whole 60 miles. Without her I know I would have given into the pain and exhaustion that comes with such an incredible journey. She was truly a Godsend and made day 3 fly by!
Jerry surprised me at one of the cheer stations and made the entire afternoon seem magical. What was so crazy about it is that he was standing right next to my new friend's family! It's just one of those God things :o)
To see so many men and women linked arm in arm for one purpose is something I'll never forget. The stories that were shared this weekend I will treasure forever. This is the victory walk heading to closing ceremonies.
The closing ceremonies were held at the Cotton Bowl. It was so loud!!!
My mom, her friend, my best friend, my husband and my son were there to cheer me home. This was the perfect ending to an amazing weekend that will continue to have an impact on me for years to come.
Thank you all for your prayers, love and support. This journey would not have been possible without you!
